HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. Band of Brothers - Ronald C. Speirs

Scene from Band of Brothers, its just for enjoyment. No copyright infringement intended.
Lt Speirs said for this " I wasn't afraid to die .I was afraid to fail " WHAT A MAN
LT Speirs immediately recognized the situation was in grave danger when the CO froze up with PTSD. He immediately took over seeing how the assault was going negative. LT Speirs gave the most helpful advice and got the assault forward again. Speirs has the most experience. He charged like a lion bat out of hell. I salute him 🫡
My favorite part of this scene which goes completely unnoticed is Spiers taking a Howitzer to the chest, being disoriented, then continuing on.
diesen Unsinn kann man doch nicht anschauen
Major Winters! "You´ve got to keep on mov-ing!", you´ll have to respect the man behind the mission, i do. I wish i had this on DVD now but i bought the whole series for the VHS player, darn.
Lt.Speirs….the man-liest man that has ever man-ed
No ha habido ni habrá otra serie tan grandiosa como “ Banda de Hermanos”.
Straight up Savage!
Spiers taking over and saying...forget going round, follow me....you heard the CO, I'm on it sarge....that sequence is one of the coolest moments in any war movie or show I've ever seen. That instant shift in momentum in the battle from just one man taking over gives me goosebumps. How many mens' lives he saved in that instant.
Shifty saves a lot of asses in this series.
One of the best WWII movies Hollywood made.
Malarkey’s “what the hell” gets me
How was he holding his balls
That is some crazy stuff I love this! BAND OF BROTHERS!!
Speirs is my favorite, but noone can deny the steel balls on First Sgt. Lipton..!
Man could have been his own brand. Spiers. Built different.
If I ever gonna get a Garand, I want the one Shifty used :)
Us Scots are like that.
Outstanding series but many things changed thx to producers and even Ambrose himself to give every episode some different arc, many characters alot of inaccuracies
2:23 - 2:29 I’ve always loved the way he goes "What the Hell???"
When you get a good commander on hell let loose
‘So anyways I started running’ - Ronald Spiers, most likely.
For sure, the greatest generation. My Dad fought there. Only 20 years old. Campaigh ribbon 5 stars. Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe.
Winters called Speirs a"natural born killer"...
Was he in the Zone or had he completely lost his mind?
A bit of both
So brave. But why western front was open only in 1944?
Egyptian hakim version It was the standard issue infantry rifle of the Egyptian army during ww2 and it was a masterwork of combat ineffectiveness and unreliability. "The Hakim was a garbage weapon" Operator inquiries called it a piece of $#!t "oh yeah, That Hakim was a hell of a bad rifle" Men couldn't trust it with their lives "I Lost my life to that hakim Rifle" It was the one rifle you could Never depend on "You couldn't fight anywhere with it, you could try to fix it, rechamber it, it didn't matter it kept on malfunctioning" Fighting men call this worthless rifle by it's European name "the Swedish ljungman, and it was also known to friend and foe alike by it's African Arabic name "The Hakim" It was one of the least widely produced battle rifles in Egyptian History, totaling 70,000 "when we think of the first barbary war we think of the Jabari warrior with his musket, when we think of the 2nd world war we think of the Pharaoh with his Hakim" at 10.5 lbs. of wood and steel the Egyptian Hakim turned the Egyptian Army into a weakling.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You follow such men even if the plan is bat crazy because they start with the phrase.. “follow me!!”
Fucking legend
Bravery carries a photo of Lt. Spears in case ever hesitates...
high intensity combat is a very select group of skill.
1:57 Did I just heard the movie production crew shouting “Are you filming here?!!” 😂
I heard “Here you, get over here!”
When Chuck Norris goes to bed, he dream of cpt. Spears exploits!
Must've been really hard for Spiers to run like that with balls so big!!
By FAR my top greatest favorite character of the tv series - him and "Wild Bill"!!! But FIRST, Speirs! And not from THIS scene, but from the other NOTORIOUS scene, who was talking with Private Blithe and the dude was telling Speirs that he was afraid so much... ...and cold like marble, with smile on his face, Speirs replied: "You hid in that ditch because you think there's still hope. But Blithe, the only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead! And the sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier's supposed to function!"
Unless one has truly experienced close quarters combat , it is exceedingly difficult to comprehend such experiences from afar to include even well made films. How do I know? I served in Lima Platoon, A Co., 1/26th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division in Viet Nam 1966-1967.
Gone are the days, that true leaders lead in the Front!
Setta' brass ones on that guy!
When Speirs left for basic training, he looked at Jocko and said “You’re the man of the house now.”
The bogeyman said that he had been there and when he saw Lieutenant Spiers he was afraid...
Long ago I was an army officer. During training we had to undertake TEWTS - tactical exercises without troops. One morning we were taken out to a bridge over a valley. The task for today was to hold the bridge for 24 hours until reinforcements came up. We had to draw up our dispositions on a talc. I put one platoon up front, overlooking the bridge. The other platoon I put on the left, in a thin woodline overlooking the river, in case the enemy tried to flank us. The third platoon was to the rear, protecting us and as a reserve. It was a classic triangulated position. The DS, the directing staff, asked me were I would be. I hadn’t put my HQ on the talc. I told them I would be up front with my lead platoon. I was told that I was wrong. The platoon commander wouldn’t thank me for looking over his shoulder, the men would think I didn’t trust him. “If you trust him, let him fight his battle, if you don’t trust him, replace him”. I was told I should be somewhere in the middle, where I could observe everything. He then added chilling words that I never forgot. He said if thing go wrong, if the lead platoon commander goes down, if he loses control of his platoon or men, I had to run over the open ground and take instant control. It was about 250m over exposed ground, and would be under fire. He looked at me and said “don’t worry, if it ever comes to it, the adrenaline will give you all the courage you will need” This was long before Band of Brothers came out. I watched his scene and wondered, could I have done it. Probably not.

Bad war acting 100 %
Speirs is a one-man Army.
So; he just hid behind a wall for one second? Why?
Man everyone out there is playing hell let loose whilst Spiers is playing halo.
"I love you Shifty, don't miss" - Lt Lipton said they got it wrong.
the 88 gun is extraordinarily, "hollywoodianly" inaccurate lol
兄弟连里面最喜欢的一段场景,温特斯上尉叫来了满级大佬!史毕尔真是个优秀的一线指挥官
